Media Training – Press and Radio

This course gives you an understanding of how journalists think, and provides the basic skills for handling print and radio interviews.  It is aimed at anybody who has to engage with the media, and concentrates on press and radio.

  • How the media works and what journalists want
  • The media ground rules
  • What is “Off the record?”
  • What makes a story?
  • Identifying issues
  • Creating messages for the media
  • Taking control and giving positive answers
  • Dealing effectively with hostile media situations
  • Microphone and studio techniques

The course includes several practical interviews where delegates will have the opportunity to practice their messaging and delivery skills.  These will be recorded and reviewed by the trainers.

All courses are run in a workshop style with a maximum of four delegates per trainer.
